Between life and plastic

About the project

I participated in the Nightwatch Exhibition in FOMU Antwerp, an art project for young artists between 16 and 26 years old, organised by ‘Fotomuseum Antwerpen’ and ‘piazza del arte‘.

For this artwork I used recycled plastic and tires. I also tried something out with light for the first time by using 3 overhead projectors. The light of the installation went out every ten minutes.

Between life and plastic shows my concern about the global issue about mass consumption and plastic waste. It plays with light and darkness to emphasize the contrast between the powerful lively nature and deadly plastic, as well as the symbiosis between both worlds.
